Iowa First Nations Summer Program- The Iowa First Nations Summer Program is a one-week residential college readiness program designed to immerse American Indian and Alaskan Native high school students into collegiate life and to facilitate the academic, social and cultural transition from high school to college preparing them for their first-year experience.

The Student Conservations Association- Are you a high school student who is passionate about conservation? Do you like working as part of a team to get things done? Do you just love being outdoors? Join an SCA Community or National Crew and plug yourself into SCA’s nationwide network of young conservationists – thousands of students who are as passionate as you are about preserving wildlands, protecting nature in urban areas, and keeping the planet green. SCA offers a range of programs for youth ages 15-19. Whether you want to serve in your local community or explore public lands across the country, SCA has something for you!

Choctaw Nation Summer STEM Camp- Are You Into Science, Math, Technology, or Engineering? If so, you may be just who we are looking for! This summer, come and explore STEM hands-on and in the real world. Your days will be filled with workshops, challenges, fun, and field trips. We promise you won’t be bored! Students who are selected will attend camp free of charge and will spend five nights on the Jones Academy campus. Transportation will be provided for those students who need it. The deadline for applications is May 9, 2014.  For rising 9-12 grade students who hold a CDIB card and have successfully completed Algebra I! Through the Looking Glass Scholarships - Through the Looking Glass and its National Center for Parents with Disabilities and their Families are pleased to announce new scholarships specifically for high school seniors or college students who have parents with disabilities.  A total of fifteen $1000 scholarships will be given out Fall 2016. 

Making Innovations in Engineering and Science (MINES) – Summer Camp for Young Women is a week long summer camp that exposes young women to some of the most exciting careers of the future! Through hands-on experiments, field trips, and lab-based activities, students get to experience what it’s like to work in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. Each day will focus on a different area of STEM and will take students to various parts of Montana’s vast outdoor classroom including caverns, streams, mountains, and geysers! Throughout the camp, students will work alongside professors and professionals and will get to meet and connect with some of the amazing women who work in STEM to make a difference in the world today. We welcome applications from all young women who will be entering their sophomore or junior year of high school and who have an interest in STEM. We especially encourage young women from minority populations to apply (must be a U.S. citizen).

The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging U.S. high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The Challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and encourage students to engage in these fields. By encouraging and recognizing our nation’s young programming talent, Congress hopes to shine a light on the growing importance of these skills. Representatives Mimi Walters and Hakeem Jeffries co-chair the 2015 Congressional App Challenge. The Congressional App Challenge will last from November 9, 2015 through January 21, 2016, and is open to all U.S. high school students in participating districts. Challenge participants are invited, either as individuals or as teams, to create and submit their own software application (“app”) for mobile, tablet, or other computing devices on a platform of their choice. A panel of local computer science professionals and congressional representatives will judge the apps, and the winners in each district will have the honor of being recognized by their Congressional representative.

NASA Internships are educational hands-on traineeships that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students as well as educators. These internships integrate participants with career professionals emphasizing mentor-directed, degree-related, real-world task completion. During the internship participants engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes.
